At Ile Iwe Command, Lagos, tensions escalated on Thursday morning after a Meiran division officer stabbed a Keke driver named Eleyele Ibrahim to death on Thursday. It was gathered that Ibrahim had been warned by an officer named Olu. Mr Ibrahim was stabbed to death for refusing to 100Naira bribe. A source told Newssplash that “The police stabbed the NAPEP driver (Keke) for refusing to pay the money, and several tricycle drivers stopped other road users and threatened to retaliate.” Newssplash also gathered. Video footage of the incident seen by Newssplash shows Ibrahim with blood stains on the floor. Toyosi Shokunbi declined to comment when contacted by Meiran police officers, while Adekunle Ajisebutu, a spokeswoman for the Lagos Police Department, said the incident had been confirmed.
